Director to assist the News Director in managing news operations across 4 properties and
across 2 DMAs: Missoula/Kalispell, MT (KECI) and Butte/Bozeman, MT (KTVM). The position
is based out of the Bozeman, MT station, KTVM.
The Assistant News Director must be capable of handling multiple tasks and willing to roll up
his/her sleeves to get the job done. The Assistant News Director is primarily responsible for
the day-to-day operations of the KTVM television news rooms and websites under the direction
and guidance from the News Director. The Assistant News Director will likewise have responsi-
bilities in budgeting, hiring of newsroom personnel, successful execution of station plans, and
maintenance of journalistic and legal standards. In addition, the Assistant News Director
position is responsible for team-building, motivation, teaching and mentoring diverse newsrooms
across our Montana properties under the direction and guidance of the News Director.
The Assistant News Director must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organization and time management skills are a must. Position reports directly to the News
Director, located at KECI in Missoula, MT. Strong Executive Producer, Producer and/or
