New York, NY – David Caldwell has been named Vice President and General Manager for Bonten’s Texas operations in Abilene and San Angelo effective immediately.  In his new role, David will be responsible for all television stations KTXS (ABC, Abilene); KTXE (ABC, San Angelo), and KTES (MeTV, Abilene) as well as the related digital operations.

David, who assumed the role of interim General Manager in October, is being promoted from his position of Creative Services Director, a position he has held since 2005.

David began his broadcast career while attending college, where he worked at radio stations KWKC-AM and KORQ-FM as an overnight DJ.  In 1981 he transitioned to television working through the production ranks to director of KTAB TV.  Later, he moved into promotion and marketing.  In 1988, he joined KTXS as Promotion and Marketing Manager and helped lead the station from a distant 3rd place to the leadership role it has today.  During his 29-years at KTXS the station has achieved many awards through community service projects

David attended Abilene Christian University, where he majored in mass communications.
